Sales & Business Development Manager
Full Time | Oamaru, Otago
About us:
We’re McBrimar, a family-owned construction company based in Oamaru. We deliver fixed-price home & land packages and bespoke design builds across Otago — and with our own land developments, reserved for McBrimar customers, we create opportunities from the ground up.
We complete around 30 homes annually and have built our reputation on:
-
Craftsmanship (we’re Registered Master Builders)
-
Transparency
-
Strong client relationships. Providing seamless customer journey, from first meeting to key handover
-
Delivering on time and on budget
-
Providing the “Full Service”, taking care of everything from subdivision to landscaping.
At McBrimar, we don’t just build homes — we build trust. And when challenges come up, our clients know one thing: we’ve got this.
About you:
You’re a proven sales operator who knows how to connect with people and close deals without the hard sell. You can talk plans, budgets, and backyards in plain english — giving clients peace of mind through every step.
To thrive with us, you’ll:
-
Have a track record in sales, preferably in residential building or construction sales
-
Be strong on negotiation, relationship-building, and presenting
-
Ideally be able to understand architectural/plan specs and translate them clearly for clients, or at a minimum have a passion for home building/renovations
-
Be confident with sales/CRM tools and pipeline reporting
-
Have commercial acumen (margins, pricing, cost impacts)
-
Be self-motivated, target-driven, and client-first in your approach
-
Hold a valid driver’s licence and be willing to travel to sites
About the role:
This isn’t about pushing cookie-cutter houses. It’s about helping clients realise their dreams — while keeping the process smooth and stress-free.
As Sales & Business Development Manager, you’ll:
-
Manage all inbound/outbound leads and drive them through the sales funnel
-
Act as primary contact from first enquiry to contract signing and handover
-
Present and promote home & land packages and design-build options
-
Maintain pipeline health, conversion metrics, and reporting
-
Collaborate with architecture, estimating, marketing, and operations
-
Ensure smooth contract handovers to the project team
-
Be an ambassador for McBrimar in the region — building networks with realtors, land developers, and referral partners
Why work with us?
At McBrimar, you’ll get more than just a sales gig. You’ll get:
-
Competitive salary with earning potential $150-200k, (including base salary + vehicle + commission) with tiered uplifts for above-target performance

-

-
